This meeting starts with Chris Day on vacation in North Carolina for a golf outing. Yes, there was also a Chris Day on vacation in Florida last month and they are one and the same. What can we say; it must be a stressful job, there are meetings on Monday’s and Wednesday’s. Bob Stallman & Reade Spaulding of DP&L spoke about issues. Stallman went over different aspects of Senate Bill 221 and its impact on alternative energy, energy efficiency and how DP&L will address the issues. He had also been in contact with representatives preparing a Job Ready Site Grant application for Goose Creek. Spaulding spoke about a new substation that is needed by SILFEX. This would provide Eaton with two substations. The discussion centered on the route the lines and poles would take. Spaulding was also asked about claims made at a Connect Ohio meeting that Commissioner Stonecash attended. It appeared that Commissioner Stonecash was left with the thought that the other side of the story presented here was in contradiction to stated claims made earlier. The Great Gratis Pothole Issue continued into another meeting. Of special note is a fear that the proposed new building at the Preble County Landfill may cause a need for a rise in the Preble County Landfill Assessment Fee. This proposed 4000 sq ft. building may lack a funding stream to pay for it. Commissioner Stonecash closed the discussion with a request to have Mr. Barnes in.
