Denise, thanks for commenting.

You have mentioned that before, I believe you and the statement attributed to Dave, it should be of concern to citizens of Preble County. The defeat of Chris Day in November needs to be a priority but the citizens also need to know where Eric Green (his only announced opponent) stands on Goose Creek. His position needs to be publically covered as it will achieve nothing to substitute one Goose Creek supporter with another. Voters need to know what the options are and what is at stake. Chris has stated on the record in the past that without Goose Creek there is no need for Shawnda. Does he still feel that way?

This being the third time Goose Creek has been reviewed and turned down by the state should tell the citizens of Preble County that the emphasis put on Goose Creek by this Commission is misplaced. This having been the fourth and final round of the Job Ready Site program will eliminate it as a future source of funding. Dave Wesler is the one constant through all three rounds of JRS applications.

The official release of the JRS award winners was apparently Thursday, April 19. I would not be surprised to learn that Preble County officials knew some time ago that they were again being turned down. On April 2, 2012 the Commission went into Executive Session to discuss the possible sale of county owned land. Shawnda sent out a self congratulatory press release on March 22. The year on the header was listed erroneously as 2011, so we have a pretty good idea that it was Shawnda (who has a history of typos) who prepared it.

There is an interactive map of the grant winners available at this link.

Well, Wesler told me that they wouldn NOT stop if they were turned down by the JRS. To me, Denise Robertson, they now have 2 strikes against them, this and Stonecash's loss in the primary..... are they gonna get their third strike?! A HUGE citizen turn out on the day of the vote to continue???? Or a loss handed to Day in November? I certainly hope so!

Here are some comments made almost one year ago. Maybe a trip down memory lane will “educate” the commissioners whose memory seems to fail them when they don’t like the facts.

Chris Day:

1:“Hey in 2013 at such and such we are going to have facilities up there and we can supply you water and sewer. Quite frankly until we get to that point, she has nothing to market.”

2: “And if we don't move forward basically Shawnda we have no really need for Shawnda at that point because she has got nothing to market there.”

March 14, 2011

File 13

Commissioner Wesler - Well other than you know we were hinging heavily on the Job Ready Site Grant last time and ahh just we are talking lots of dollars here so I want make sure the different scenarios. That's why I'd like to see it down on your paper. Ahh by you emailing it to us but I don't think so at the moment. It is just staggering numbers here but I understand what the potential could be. How much has Frank been paid already from let's say Kleingers

How can the public educate themselves when the lessons keep changing? And we still don't have answers to our questions..... what is the plan? How much will it cost? Is it $20 million, $15 million, $8 million or $6 million? The facts keep changing. How will it be paid for? Chris Day said loans at the Nation Trail meeting, but now the public is being mislead, somehow?
Hopefully voters will make "educated" to choices in Robertson and White on Tuesday.

$62,000 would have bought the Village of Gratis a new cruiser and much more. It will be interesting to see how this comes out.

I don’t think there was any intent to disrespect Camden on this cruiser issue. It was good use of an older cruiser. The county probably should have sold the cruiser they gave to Meigs. The money could have gone toward a video system to record county commission meetings. It also appears to me that this commission feels burned by comments made in the November 8, Register Herald. Camden and the county were done wrong by sending the landfill leachate line to Lakengren.

The Preble County Commissioners are not disrespecting Camden over Gratis. The commission probably used the "scoring system" for the leachate line and used it for the used cruiser. Here is Gratis's trump card http://www.auditor.state.oh.us/newscenter/press/release/1153 You can see they need the money!
It may also create a ? about the prosecutors office taking over as soliciter for the villages.

This meeting and the audio should be considered Preble County politics 101 for voters. Change is needed and best of luck to you. That leachate line should have gone to Camden. It was in the best interests of the county, its people, economy and even Lakengren as jobs would aid the housing market. This commission was asked about areas with rail in the afternoon and never mentioned that in the morning they robbed Preble County citizens economic future to eliminate the Camden area that had rail from competition with Goose Creek.
